Weleda Main sites and headquarters
In the Asia Pacific Region, the headquarters are based in Weleda New Zealand at the beautiful Havelock North, Hawke’s Bay where a wide range of anthroposophic and homoeopathic medicines are made since 1955.To ensure maximum vitality and potency, the herbs are cultivated to the highest biodynamic standards in Weleda New Zealand’s own gardens, or sourced from other parts of New Zealand or from sustainably cultivated, fair trade partnerships worldwide.
Interesting fact: At Weleda New Zealand’s biodynamic farm, there are three cows whose sole purpose is to provide manure for compost and eight goats to naturally control weeds around the gardens.
In Europe, Weleda’s three main sites are close together in Arlesheim, Switzerland just a few kilometres from the Weleda site in Huningue, France. The production operation in Schwäbisch Gmünd near Stuttgart is just 250 kilometres north-east in Germany. These three sites see the processing of most of the 1,000 natural, sustainably produced raw materials for Weleda products. More than 100 natural cosmetics products, 10 dietetics and around 2,500 medicines are also created here.
